India has banned another 47 Chinese apps just weeks after the country blocked popular video-sharing platforms TikTok and WeChat also as 57 others over national security and privacy concerns. This action has opened an enormous opportunity for the Indian social media app to exchange Chinese social media apps.
A notice sent by the WeChat team on Saturday to an undetermined number of Indian users saying, “Pursuant to Indian law we are unable to supply you WeChat at this point .”
Tensions between India and China have significantly soured following last month’s border clash that left 20 Indian soldiers dead and a number of other others wounded.
